Everything you need to know about our pots, shipping, and keeping your plants happy.
Our pots are made from premium injection-molded black plastic — the same commercial-grade material used by professional nurseries and growers worldwide. This process creates a thicker, more uniform wall than blow-molded alternatives, giving you a pot that resists cracking, splitting, and warping season after season.
Yes! All Green Oasis pots are UV-stabilized, meaning they are engineered to withstand prolonged sun exposure without becoming brittle, fading, or cracking. Whether your plants live on a full-sun patio or in a greenhouse, these pots are built to last for multiple growing seasons outdoors.
Absolutely. Every Green Oasis pot comes with pre-drilled drainage holes at the bottom to prevent waterlogging and root rot — one of the leading causes of plant death. Proper drainage means healthier roots and healthier plants. We recommend pairing your pot with one of our plant saucers to protect your floors and patios.
Nursery pots (like ours) are functional growing containers designed for optimal plant health — they prioritize drainage, root aeration, and durability over aesthetics. Decorative planters are designed to look beautiful but often lack drainage and proper depth. Many gardeners use our nursery pots as the inner growing vessel and slide them inside a decorative planter for the best of both worlds.
Yes! Our pots work great indoors. Just be sure to place a plant saucer underneath to catch any water that drains through. The clean black finish also looks sleek in interior settings.
Yes — our pots are designed with a slight taper that allows them to nest and stack when empty, saving space in your garage, shed, or nursery. This makes them especially practical if you're a grower, landscaper, or hobbyist who works with large quantities of containers.
Our current line features classic black, which is the industry standard for professional growers. Black pots absorb heat and encourage root growth, and the neutral color pairs well with any plant or outdoor décor.
We carry a wide range of sizes to suit every grower — from compact herb gardens to full-size trees:
- 3-Gallon
- 5-Gallon
- 7-Gallon
- 10-Gallon
- 15-Gallon
- 25-Gallon
Each size is also available in multi-packs (5-pack, 10-pack, 15-pack, 20-pack) so you can stock up and save.
A good rule of thumb is to choose a pot that is 1–2 inches larger in diameter than your plant's current root ball. Here's a general guide:
| Pot Size | Best For |
|---|---|
| 3-Gallon | Herbs, seedlings, small annuals, succulents |
| 5-Gallon | Tomatoes, peppers, small shrubs, perennials |
| 7-Gallon | Medium shrubs, blueberries, dwarf fruit trees |
| 10-Gallon | Large vegetables, roses, ornamental grasses |
| 15-Gallon | Small trees, large shrubs, cannabis, citrus |
| 25-Gallon | Mature trees, palms, large specimen plants |
Yes! Our 15-gallon and 25-gallon pots are ideal for growing trees in containers. Dwarf fruit trees (citrus, apple, fig), ornamental trees, and palms all do well in our larger pots. For trees that will grow very large, we recommend starting in a 15-gallon and repotting into a 25-gallon as the tree matures.
For cannabis cultivation, the most popular sizes are the 5-gallon (ideal for smaller autoflowering strains) and the 10–15 gallon (recommended for photoperiod and larger strains). More root space generally equals larger yields. Our heavy-duty injection-molded plastic is a favorite among home and commercial growers alike for its durability and superior drainage.
Here's a handy reference for how many bags of potting mix you'll need per pot (based on standard 1-cu ft / 1.5-cu ft bags):
- 3-Gallon: ~0.4 cu ft of soil
- 5-Gallon: ~0.7 cu ft of soil
- 7-Gallon: ~0.94 cu ft of soil
- 10-Gallon: ~1.3 cu ft of soil
- 15-Gallon: ~2 cu ft of soil
- 25-Gallon: ~3.3 cu ft of soil
Note: Fill to about 1–2 inches below the rim to allow space for watering.
Most of our pot sizes are available in 5-pack, 10-pack, 15-pack, and 20-pack options. The more you buy, the more you save per pot. Here's how to think about it:
- 5-Pack – Perfect for home gardeners starting a container garden
- 10-Pack – Great for raised bed setups, vegetable gardens, or hobby growers
- 15–20-Pack – Ideal for serious hobbyists, small farms, or those doing a full garden refresh

Most plants benefit from repotting every 1–2 years, or when you notice roots growing out of the drainage holes, the plant drying out unusually quickly after watering, or stunted growth. Spring is the best time to repot, as plants are entering their active growing season. When repotting, size up by 1–2 inches in diameter — too large a jump can stress the plant.
The best soil mix depends on your plant type:
- Vegetables & herbs: High-quality potting mix with added perlite for drainage
- Succulents & cacti: Cactus/succulent mix or potting soil blended 1:1 with coarse perlite
- Trees & shrubs: A premium potting mix with slow-release fertilizer added
- Tropical plants: Rich, well-draining potting mix with added orchid bark or perlite
Avoid using garden soil in containers — it tends to compact and doesn't drain well.
Our UV-stabilized pots handle outdoor conditions well, but extreme freeze-thaw cycles can stress any plastic container over time. We recommend the following for winter care:
- Move pots to a sheltered location (garage, shed, or under an overhang) during hard freezes
- Wrap large planted pots in burlap to insulate roots
- Empty and store unused pots stacked indoors to maximize longevity
Cleaning pots between growing seasons is important to prevent disease carryover. Here's a simple process:
- Remove all old soil and debris
- Scrub with warm soapy water using a stiff brush
- Rinse with a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water) and let soak for 10 minutes
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before reusing
Black pots do absorb more heat than light-colored containers, which can be beneficial in spring and fall — warming the root zone and encouraging faster growth. In peak summer heat, you can:
- Place pots in partial shade during the hottest part of the day
- Set pots on a wooden deck, gravel, or pot feet instead of hot concrete to reduce heat transfer
- Water more frequently in hot weather, as containers dry out faster than in-ground beds
- Double-pot: place the nursery pot inside a larger, light-colored decorative pot to insulate the roots
A saucer is not required, but highly recommended — especially for indoor use or on wooden decks and patios. Saucers catch excess drainage water, protect surfaces, and allow you to reuse that water by letting the plant absorb it from the bottom up. Check out our Plant Saucers collection — we carry sizes to match every pot we sell.

Yes — our commercial-grade injection-molded pots meet the same standards used by professional nurseries. They're preferred over thin blow-molded alternatives because they are thicker, more durable, and hold their shape under the weight of heavy soil and mature root systems. Whether you're a hobby grower or running a commercial operation, our pots are built to perform.
